For the Clue Assigment Step 3A, I decided to interview an caucasion girl that lives across from me in my dorm and I also decided to interview an athlete who plays football.
I asked the girl two questions: How often does she wash her hair? and What are parties like for her at Bloomsburg University? She said that she washes her hair twice a day, because she spends a lot of time at the gym and she has been raised to wash her hair twice a day. I thought that this was interesting, because as a black female. I wash my hair every other week and I never knew that it was different for another race as a female. I also asked her about parties off campus. She said that parties are very packed, with a bunch of kids, beer, swear and music. Personally, parties for me are not like that because I hang with a different enviroment. This shows me that even though students are living in the same enviroment, race can make college seeem like there are thousands and thousands of envioments in one community. I asked a football athlete, Aaron, how does he sepearate his academic life from his sport? He told me that being that he is an athlete, he takes 12 credit courses. This gives him time for his work and his sports. I also asked him how is the social life for him being an athlete? He said that the social life is very fun and the same as most students on campus, but with more people. Most athletes tend to know more people, because they throw parties together as team which brings in tons of new faces and new cultures.
